The Brotherhood of Aggie Mentors exists to serve the Bryan / College Station area through mentorship by developing students into leaders and men of character who uphold the core values of Texas A&M.

Our mission never changes. It is the most basic guiding principle of our organization and we do our best to make sure that it is met and upheld in everything that we do. The mission of BAM is stated above, we aim to develop college students into leaders who will effectively change and better our community.

Our vision changes from year to year and is set the EXEC team before the year begins.
For the 2017-2018 school year, BAM's vision is this:

  • Train new members and equip them with the skills to be effective leaders and mentors.
  • Establish and maintain healthy relationships with students in the community.
  • By the end of each semester, our goal is for each BAM member to be mentoring at least one other person.

This word gets thrown around often. BAM defines mentorship as actively seeking to invest and develop someone else.

We provide our members with the many of the skills and resources that have been proven to assist in successful mentorship however we understand that connecting with others is not "one size fits all" which is specifically why we leave the process of mentorship open ended and as a responsibility of BAM members to choose and develop their own style of mentorship.

Additionally, we are aware that numbers do not change lives, but rather relationships do. BAM is successful is each member in BAM is actively mentoring one other person by the end of the spring semester. While we realistically cannot reach everyone, we hope to establish meaningful positive relationships with those who we do interact with.
